Tomorrow, the World/Inferno Friendship Society heads west for the second part of our album release tour, sharing bills with Portland’s Bridge City Sinners across British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.
I recently completed an East Coast run with the band, attended a Brooklyn showcase, and acquired my first vehicle with partner Evie. They threw me a birthday celebration in Miami, which was a first.
Later in February, I’ll play a private invitation-only show in Philadelphia with Evie Morrel-Samuels — original stories combined with music and movement.
From February 25 through March 1, I debut Marbleous, a new duo with Austrian contrabassist Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka. The project features free improvisation using small objects placed on amplified instruments, with an East Coast run from Boston to DC.
Ahead: thingNY performances in the Bronx and Queens in March, a residency at Brooklyn’s Spectrum in April featuring the ADDDDDDDDD revival as part of the MATA Festival, and World/Inferno’s first European tour since 2015 this summer.
