Greetings from Austria! I’m working with three collaborators on a new music-theater piece titled A History of Characters, premiering in Vienna on Friday and Graz on Sunday. The work explores “language mixing and mix-ups, human and machine languages, character(s), and intercultural communication.”
The 45-minute bilingual production premieres at Echoraum in Vienna and Forum Stadtpark in Graz. Following these performances, I’ll work on duo material with Margarethe and prepare for an October 11 solo concert at Planetarium in Graz.
Before the residency: a July premiere with violist Eve Boltax and performances with thingNY and World/Inferno across the Northeast and Midwest. I relocated from Boston to Philadelphia just before flying over.
Looking ahead: World/Inferno touring in the fall, a December thingNY program in Brooklyn, and a run of performances marking the ten-year anniversary of ADDDDDDDDD next spring.
